More infomation

In conjunction with Cake's Corocoro scan post, I'm happy to announce Pokemon.com has confirmed there will be a distribution of a Torchic holding it's "Megastone" which is called "Blazikenite" This will be the only way to get a legitimate copy of this item.

The distribution event will start October 12, and doesn't currently state an end-date for it. The Torchic will be obtained via the Nintendo Network.

Pokemon information:

Torchic (Male)
Lv. 10
Ability: Speed Boost
Held Item: Blazikenite

Stat Breakdown:
HP: 31
Attack: 18
Defense: 15
SP.Atk: 17
Sp.Def: 15
Speed: 15

Mega-Mewtwo: is said to specialize in an "Insanely high SP.Atk stat, making it capable of overwhelming other pokemon"
Mega-Lucario: increases Lucario's previous emphasis on a balanced ATK, and his Mega ability will be Adaptability, which increases the effectiveness of same-type moves. He will keep his Fighting/Steel typing in this new form.
Mega-Blaziken: Will have an even higher atk stat than Blaziken and benefit even more from it's ability, Speed Boost.

We do not own PokeGen. The only thing made by the staff is the on-site Editor.

The event COULD be added to the Download page on the site. But we're not 100% sure there will be an X and Y Editor.. We're 99.999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999% sure, though, that Cake and wallace can work around some new issues that they may encounter.
I must have this Pokemon! heart
BTW just to clear it up (because I got confused at first): when Adaptability says moves of the same type, they mean STAB boost. So, instead of STAB doing 1.5x more damage, it's a whopping 2x damage. Dang, 2x damage priority Bullet Punch on Lucario is great. It actually outclasses Extremespeed at that.

It's a necessity.

 Indeed it is! wah
I wonder what they mean by "Insanely high Special Attack stat"... would it top the current max, held by Deoxys? I mean, jeez, 180/180/150 offensive stats is already crazy. I'm betting around 180-230 range on the Special Attack.

BTW I've learned that the Megastone is a hold item that lasts the duration of the battle.

YES!
I can't wait for this!

Masuda recently revealed a new Mega Pokemon, Mega Kangaskhan, at the VGC Opening Ceremony. When in Mega form, Kangaskhan's baby comes out to help battle! It has the ability "Parental Bond" that allows it's attack to hit twice in one turn.

So, what I was wondering about that is: does the baby Kangaskhan have the same mathematics (stats, STAB, etc.) applied when doing damage? Because in that case, it is essentially doing double damage. Which so happens to be Huge Power with added Special Attack doubling. And doubling its base 95 Attack stat brings it to a whopping 190 Attack stat; even more than the epitome of offense, Deoxys-A.

That's ridiculous!

Yeah, I don't think we know the juicy details yet.

Okay! That's just cute. XD heart
I wish it had less spikes and stuff... smooth like a real baby.

I think the baby looks A LOT different from the original sugimori art.
