Please read this before asking any questions about PokEdit for X and Y!

PokEdit does not currently support Pokemon X and Y.

We are looking into it and it might be possible in the future. We will try our best to support X & Y as soon as we can.

If you create a topic asking this question it will probably be deleted. You may have discussion about PokEdit for X and Y though. For example: if you want to talk about some feature you think we should add, or some design changes you'd like to see in our Pokemon X and Y Editor... feel free to talk about it. Just don't ask when/if there will be a Pokemon X and Y PokEdit. There will probably be one and we'll be sure to announced it when it arrives.

I'm curious.
I think i have a possibly brilliant idea! Iirc, ndsa+ can backup 3ds games. Once it gets the right software update, we can get the .sav files AND the .pkm files. I hope i'm right about this...

thanks. I feel like an idiot though. lol

Anyway. Yeah, NDSA+ can backup some games save files. But it doesn't work with Pokemon X and Y yet. I'm sure the NDSA+ company is working on it though.
I don't understand. Why do you need something to backup your game cartridge?

I was goofing around with my save file - you know, the thing that's stored in the memory card of your 3DS? It's all there, from what I can tell.

The file is 1024 KB in size, though if you hunt through your 3DS's memory card it may take a little bit to find - it's not labeled or anything. You can tell it's your save file because deleting it deletes your data and trying to manipulate it in any way causes the game to say your save file has been corrupted upon starting Pokemon.

Like previous pokemon games, the savegame file has a checksum. The data here is also encrypted in some way, trying to search your save file for your money value, name value, playtime, etc. is pretty much impossible, as it's stored differently than how it's retrieved. Plus, there's that pesky checksum. Trying to change random values on your save without first knowing how to alter the checksum isn't going to work either.

I'm not an expert on how pokemon save files are constructed, or anything, but I thought I could be a bit of help. I wrote a simple java program that compares two save files and prints out a textfile of lines that don't match up. Using this approach, you can begin to identify where the checksum is stored and how it's effected, as well as how various data is 'encrypted'.

I've already done an analysis of my own save game, the two saves I've included in the below zip are about 1-3 seconds apart, the only difference between them is the playtime (I may have moved a few steps as well, I forget). It's open source, so you can verify the java code contains nothing malicious. It's a very simple, very basic program you run from the command line.

If anyone is interested in playing around with their save file, you could probably figure out how to hack your money, inventory, playtime, and other simple data, if you put enough effort into identifying what changes and how - previous generations only 'encrypted' data by XORing the hex values. Editing entire pokemon is probably not going to be around for a while, but you can at least make your life easier, I know I have no desire to farm hundreds of those 'change pokemon ability' items. But, I'm not sure how to go about cracking the checksum. I'm sure there's someone with more expertise who can do that quicker than I.

I haven't tested this program on any machine but my own, but it should work fine. It's just supposed to be a tool of convenience should anyone want to inspect what's going on here.

Just wait for pokemon bank lol, send pokedit-pokemons to V generation games and then to pokemon bank xD
^Are you forgetting about the new pokemon? Peeps be wanting perfect shiny goodra!
*Edit* Nooga was faster than me!
There are also certain egg moves and combinations and such that won't be available in previous generations. The pokebank will allow people to flood X and Y with illegal pokemon, but not everything will be possible if you limit yourself to the previous generation pokesav.
So what is the word on the label of PokEdit Pokemon that got into B2/W2? If they got legitimately moved from B2/W2 to X/y and they dont violate anything obvious, are they allowed through? Or is there some sort of identifier we have to worry about that only PokEdit creates when it creates and sends over pokemon data?

Essentially: When the pokemon transfer thing comes out, will our PokEdit pokemon be considered legal and be able to be transferred over?

They should be fine so long as they're legal.

So it just becomes a matter of defining exactly what is legal and what isn't in the grander scheme of things then.
I do have many pokemon I have to work on and make sure they are legal. I am curious to the pokeback's hack checker and what sort of checks are done.
Also I heard a rumor on another site that is most likely false but it did give me hope.
Rumor: The hack check will only prevent hacked pokemon from being sent via trade and wifi battles. If this is true then I will be very happy.
Personally I couldn't care less when someone else uses a hacked pokemon , I don't play against other players so it makes no difference to me.
Best of luck on the new X/Y updates!
How long would it be until you guys have PokEdit compatible with X&Y?

Try reading the original post all the way through, as it actually answers that question.
Answer: We don't know.
DrakethePokeman
X and y's Pokemon bank will not allow edited Pokemon... so if you guys do make editing Pokemon avaliable for people that would be great!
DrakethePokeman
Well, if we make them legit... they will probably go through...I guess my shiny Keldeo and Meloetta wont be going through...
Hoping you guys can get this to work :)
Sadly I couldn't use Pokedit due to my router doesn't support the DNS change and the connection with the old NDS WiFi crap isn't working either :D
So I reeeeeeeally hope it'll work somehow with the PokeBank I know you guys will get it to work! Crossing my fingers :D

wait... how does your router not support dns changing..... since your changing the dns on your Nintendo DS?... besides the point...

I have no idea how poke edit works what so ever.. But I know for a fact that pokebank will have special checks on all the  pokemon that are transferred.

No one is quite sure what those checks are yet, but most people are just going with, if its legit then chances are it will pass.

Special checks could also include where the pokemon was caught, and stuff.

Anyways good luck on making functionality for pokemon x and y

I lose WiFi-Connection when I change my DS' DNS. :(
I have a .sav that I can upload if you'd like the data references

They are going to check memo data as well as moves, IVS, EVS, (maybe) ribbons, (maybe)  contest stats.
If the routor does not let you connect to pokedits dns then the network will block  you, even if your using a ds, dsi, 3ds,ect
I do hope so, it would be really helpful if and when this can come out for X and Y...

Ive been trying to get  an Oshawott but.... GTS from my Black2 wont connect to the GTS for X and Y for some reason. Its been really frusterating. but i should beat the game before i do anything like transfering pokemon over.
WOW. They did make so major progress. Hopefully they will release all of the data soon so we can use it

Yeah I do hope so, too. I'd really like to get competetive without grinding and breeding for days.. It's not quite as funny as they intended to :D
I was messing around I don't know what I did but I changed a eevee to shiny and changed its gendr but it has no moves any more:(
Hi guys i have a question about the pokemon bank for B2/W2 and X/Y. it really puzzles me that the pokemon from B2/W2 can be transported to pokemon X/Y so heres my question. how is that possible? why i ask is because the files are totally different one is bigger than the other as you can tell from the website projectpokemon. but the thing that puzzles me is if pokemon from pokemon B2/W2 files are smaller than pokemon X/Y files how in the world did nintendo make an app for the 3ds the poke transporter transport pokemon from pokemon B2/W2 to pokemon X/Y?

In a nutshell, it converts the .pkm files into .pkx files.
I really hope you guys do this because my DS doesn't get wifi but my 3ds does so this is the only pokemon game so far that I can use this on, right now I'm stuck super training and hatching for hours with flame body to get good natures for the perfect EV stat pokemon. It takes forever!  I would love to see you guys beat them too!
Did you guys get your hands on the files yet?
Or any other updates you could possibly share? :)

Listen im not a pro hacker like you guys. the reason i asked this qusetion is beacuse maybe the way nintendo converts the pokemon files can be a clue to how pokedit can hack pokemon X/Y.
So there is a way to transfer pokemon to your pc and modify their data. http://gbatemp.net/threads/pkx-editor-by-codemonkey85.356901/ There's just no way to get them back to your 3ds yet.. Hope it's ok to post this stuff

What if you want an over powered XY pokemon :P
I don' know if this is possible, seeing as im not that great at programming or code, but would it be possible to make it so you can take out multiple pokemon at once? because I find it very annoying to have to go in to the GTS, get 1 pkmn, leave the GTS, go back in to get another, etc. etc. Is there any way to make that less time-consuming?
I want a shiny Ho-oh in Pokemon X and Y. Also Pokemon Bank won't come out until like December. :(

No.
One thing that I think should be fixed is that you should be able to choose what level specifically you want the pokemon to be instead of just choosing from level one, level fifty, or level one hundred.

You can already do that. o_0 Just check the box, highlight the level, and change it. Lol

not exactly they are trying to find a way to work around 'illegal' pokemon even if its one with legal moves its still not caught the 'right' way
Dumper program.

http://gbatemp.net/threads/pok%C3%A9mon-x-y-dumper-and-editor.356901/

Instead of PKM, the new extension for these files in Pokémon X and Pokémon Y is called now PKX. Normally, these files are extracted as encrypted data, so they receive the .pkx extension after being decrypted. This program is able to decrypt and encrypt back PKX files: Files with the extension .bin are assumed as encrypted, and .pkx files are assumed as decrypted.

Nuff said.
My thoughts at the moment are: How exactly would we be able to get around the in-game hack check. Serebii.net, its their most recent post about the in-game hack check. It was just posted today.
Speaking of Seribii, it looks like a small part of their info is potentially wrong. The official stated release is (for pokebank) december 27 while they say december 25. so i think it means that since they most likely have an insider that gamefreak is releasing it earlier than anticipated

The December 25 release date is for Japan only. The US and Europe are still getting it December 27.
I so want to get Pokedit for my Y version, especially because I started with frokie but I also want chespin, AND i want xerneas. IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK?

Can't help you with Xerneas, but I've got an extra Chespin if you want it. I don't need anything special, but if you have a spare Vivillon (or even Scatterbug), I'd be happy to trade for that. My friend code is 1005-9868-3300.
Any news on any type of hack for X and Y? I'm dying to find a way to hack them!
pokedit should make it so they trick poke bank so we can transfer our pokes safer were pokedit bank has no matenec or pay ment ever DNS abuse works for the games so it should work for poke bank or eshop so we donlode a fake poke bank we all know nintndo's poke bank will kill poke edit pokemon
^We can't do that, pal. Also please use better grammar, your posts are tricky to read.
I hope we can use the new 6th support to get megastones.... I wonder if there are hidden megastones or forms we dont know about

[NEED TO BE KNOW]

Some people can not afford to get the private Pokemon boxes or that thing i have no money and i might just get pokemon x or y because of me moving

The good news is you do get 30 days of Pokebank for free, but you must claim those 30 days by Jan 31st, 2014. I would suggest you get all the Pokemon you want loaded into a Gen 5 game (Black/White/B2/W2) so you can move them all at once during the 30 day trial.

The other good news is that Pokebank is pretty affordable. It's only $5 per year, meaning it costs less than 50 cents per month.
comlink to the virus
i know how but you need a hidden file dettector
comlink to the virus
there are hidden megastones for the three hidden event legendaries i found them on my memory cardcheeky
comlink to the virus
there is a dns for poke bank it depends on what your friend code and the game you got are
comlink to the virus
there is a way to hack poke bank it's on a network kind of like gts so you can actully use it to clone pokemon XD
the virus to comlink
x and y are made so there harder to hack with there hexagon hack detector but it is easy to hack with then any other game due to its sd cardpikachu:p
just use the pokemon gts on pokemon x and y as we did on pokemon black wight black 2 and wight 2  it is the same as them so it is simpol just make it so as pokedit can connect to pokemon x and y

You don't know what you're talking about. It's not simple at all. It's not the same AT ALL! Nintendo/Gamefreak are BOTH not happy that sites like PokEdit exist. So, they are making it harder to make. Just WAIT, and have PATIENCE. We can't do it at the PUSH OF A BUTTON. You can be respectful and wait, or you can leave.
Glitch is right. There's a lot of complicated programming when it comes to this. And with the 3DS having different coding, we have to do things differently. Please don't make assumptions on this sort of thing, unless you understand programming, you no nothing of how hard this is.
I agree with Glitch.
I really want Pokedit for X and Y too but realistically they won't be able to figure anything out until the new year!
Pokebank will change how everything works and i don't think people give enough credit where its due.

These guys do this for FREE for us. Its not like action replay where you have to pay.
I just want to say thanks to you for making it for previous generations guys!

Hope you get it sorted :)

Also, getting sick of seeing people post the same 'i want pokedit for x and y' thing.

They get it, leave them be!
when will pokedit be able to suppport x and y?
answer- we dont know
what approximitate date waill it be supported? we didnt start because we dont have everything neccessary to do so.
Will it be free? most likely yes
